Stormking Spa at Mt. Rainier
Just a mile from the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, the Stormking Spa offers a wonderful option for those who don’t really want to rough it. The two recently built cabins are luxurious retreats. In the Eagle cabin, vaulted ceilings, a gas woodstove, polished wood-slab tables, and a handcrafted wall hanging of snowcapped Mount Rainier create cozy ambience. The spacious bathroom boasts a two-person greenhouse shower and a beautiful slate-tiled floor; outside, your private hot tub awaits in a cedar gazebo strung with twinkling lights. For total romantic seclusion, check into the smaller, more remote Raven, a round yurt-style cedar cabin nestled against protected forest and a babbling creek. Inside, a queen bed is situated underneath a round overhead skylight, perfect for looking at the stars. The garden-inspired decor beautifully melds indoors and outdoors, with hand-painted ferns on the floor and walls, and a river-rock gas fireplace. The creatively designed bathroom’s oversize shower creates a waterfall effect. Your private, cedar-enclosed hot tub is just steps away. Outdoor lighting at both cabins is superb; small spotlights illuminate the beautiful old firs, giant ferns, birch trees, and well-designed plank and stone walkways. Both also have surround-sound stereo, and you can even channel music outside to your hot tub-soothing cds are supplied in the room, or bring your own. Other amenities include robes and slippers, candles, fine chocolates, microwave, mini-fridge, coffeemaker, and a basket with coffee, tea, and muffins or croissants for the morning. Massages are also available.
